Dr. Shakhawat Hossain is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at 黄瓜社区. Hossain received his master's degree in statistics from the University of Alberta in 2002, and PhD in statistics from the University of Windsor in 2008.
Prior to joining to U黄瓜社区, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Alabama A & M University and a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Alberta from 2008-2010. Hossain has experience analyzing Canadian health administrative, outpatient and inpatient databases.
His research interests include: James-Stein type shrinkage and pretest methods; model selection methods using LASSO, adaptive LASSO, and SCAD methods; longitudinal data analysis; application of statistics in health services research; and survival data analysis.
