The academic year runs September-August.
Applications for the next academic year open November 1 or the following business day.
Applications for a Fall start date are due February 1 or the following business day.
Applications for a Winter start date in the Master of Science in Applied Computer Science and Society program are due July 1 or the following business day.

Graduate Program Application Fee Waiver
Graduate program applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible for an application fee waiver:
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.5 scale, and
• Either hold a 4-year bachelor's degree from 黄瓜社区, or are current undergraduate students and will complete their 4-year bachelor's degree at 黄瓜社区 by August 31, 2026
Fee Waiver Period
Applications must be submitted between December 1, 2025 and February 2, 2026.

There is a one-time non-refundable fee required when submitting your application. This fee must be received by the University before your application can be assessed. This fee must be paid in Canadian funds, the rates are listed below:
Domestic Student: $100.00
International Student: $120.00
The application fee can be paid online with a credit card when you submit your application through the Application Portal. Visa and Mastercard credit cards are accepted.
Other Methods of Payment
If you are unable to pay your application fee through the portal, we also accept other methods of payment.
We can accept the following payments via mail:
- Cheques made out to "黄瓜社区"
- Money Orders made out to "黄瓜社区"
- VISA or Mastercard: to pay by VISA or Mastercard please contact the Graduate 黄瓜社区 Office at graduateadmissions@uwinnipeg.ca to request a credit card authorization form

Minimum Academic Requirements
Most programs require a 4-year general or honours Bachelor’s degree to apply, with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.5 (70%) and no grade less than C+ in the last two years of full-time university study.
Some programs may have additional criteria or higher standards. Please refer to the program listings ("factsheets") for the minimum requirements for your program.
Students with international credentials can refer to Minimum Academic Requirements: International Credentials to determine minimum the academic requirements for their country.
Minimum English Language Requirements
Applicants shoul review 黄瓜社区's English Language Requirements Policy regarding minimum scores.
However, applicants should also note that some graduate programs require scores higher than those listed in the policy. Please refer to the program listings ("factsheets") for the requirements for your program.
